Together As One – Groundswell Church Christmas
“A line in the sand”… I think that encompasses what it has been for Groundswell Church the last couple months. If I could write every story and every life changed you would have to sit here for a long time. But nevertheless I would like to share a couple with you.
As many of you know we moved to Toronto with a dream and a passion in our heart to walk out in faith that which we believed God was calling us to do. So we, with a team of people began to gather on Sunday’s and Wednesday to pray and strategize for what this Church, Groundswell Church would look like. We launched in late September and have not looked back. I would be lying to you if I told you it has been easy or smooth on both a professional and personal level, but one thing has been truer than ever, God has never left us nor forsaken us.
A couple of weeks ago we had our first baptisms as a Church and I promise no matter how old I get, or how large our Church becomes I will never forget that Sunday. It was a Sunday of firsts. First baptisms, first time our Church gathered to support people’s decisions for Jesus, and first time Mika and I had baptized people together! I have a difficult time holding back tears when I think about what those baptisms represent and what the Holy Spirit has done in people’s lives that are changed not for a moment but eternity!
* Marriages Restored
* Families Reconciled
* Single Parents finding support
* Re-commitments to JESUS through a parent’s prayers
* First time decisions for JESUS
* People finding Belonging
* People finding Home
* People finding Hope
* People deepening their commitment to JESUS
* People realizing how the Holy Spirit can use them
* People seeing their family members find JESUS
* People seeing co-workers find JESUS
Just to name a few; and we are 3 months old this weekend! There are some really good days and some really difficult days, as Church Planting can be a roller coaster. But as I said before, one thing has be truer than ever, God has never left us nor forsaken us. I believe we have only just begun seeing JESUS do what only He can do, and I know the best is still ahead for our Church and yours!

As our Church goes forward please remember to pray for and our city. We work hard, but need the Holy Spirit to penetrate the hearts of men and women here. That the cross may draw men and women to Himself, that they will turn around from the lives the live and turn to JESUS! That they may know the grace, love, redemption, restoration and life that is truly life!
Pastor Jeff & Mika Pike.
